Community Engagement Manager
Arealus was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire where he received his bachelors in Psychology and Philosophy. Afterwards he attended Boston University School of Social Work where he received his Master’s in Clinical Social Work and a sub-specialization in Macro Social Work. Shortly after graduating Boston University he obtained his licensure as a clinical social worker. While attending Boston University he was an interviewer for the Understanding the Mentoring Process study. Additionally he interned at Urban Edge and Somerville Mental Health Association. Before working at Lena Park as Community Engagement Manager; he worked with individuals in recovery at Victory Programs as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, working with individuals who were incarcerated at Naphcare as a Mental Health Clinician, and working with the elderly as a Social Worker at Margaret Shea Adult Day Health program. Also in 2015 Arealus joined the Urban Edge Board of Directors.
