Community Engagement Manager
Alice Gomes has lived in Boston area and worked in the field of human services for over twenty years. She has a deep commitment to working with families to empower them to obtain what they need to raise healthy, responsible children. She has used her lifelong experience as parent educator, trainer, and family support advocate to work with teen parents, families struggling with substance abuse, and families involved with protective services. Ms. Gomes has worked at the Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts serving as the Family Development Specialist promoting healthy family development as well as the Nurturing Philosophy. She is a nationally recognized trainer and consultant for the Nurturing Program. After receiving her Certificate of Management in Human Services from Suffolk University Graduate school of Management, she took on the position of FNC’s Dorchester CARES Coalition Coordinator. Her role was to build a coalition in the Dorchester area to increase family support programming and to involve parents directly, giving them a voice in the programs that are offered. The coalition works to develop comprehensive family supports to strengthen families, build communities and prevent child abuse and neglect. Ms. Gomes has served on the Board of Directors as the Board President of CVC UNIDO. She has also served on the board of Department of Children and Family as well as Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative. Currently Alice serves as the Community Engagement Manager here at Lena Park.
