The Lena Park Fab Lab is open in our new location! Coordinator Greg Buckland is excited to make awesome things with the Lena Park community. We are on the 1st floor, next to the Tech Cafe (to the left of the stairs that go up to the gym) – stop by or email if you are interested!
What’s a Fab Lab?
Fab Labs are community maker spaces where people young and old can make useful and beautiful things to benefit themselves and their communities. They began at MIT in 2006, and now there are over 1,500 around the world – including at Lena Park! Our Fab Lab is equipped with some extraordinary 21st century technology, including:
- 3D Printers
- Laser Cutter & Engraver
- Vinyl Cutter
- Digital Emroidery & Sewing Machine
- Electronics Equipment
- Hand Tool and Power Tools
We will be having intro classes to each of these technologies for anyone aged 14 and over. We also offer afterschool and summer programs for students aged 5-13, as well as programs for older youth (aged 14-18) and adults (18+). If you are interested, or if you want to come learn or make something, email us: email@example.com – or call us (617) 533-8133 ext. 26 – or just stop by!
To learn more about Fab Labs around the world, please visit the Fab Foundation website or check out FabLab.io, which tracks the locations and capabilities of Fab Labs all around the world (you can check out our profile here).
Fab Lab Calendar
Please check out the Fab Lab calendar below. Any time marked “Open Fab Lab” is a time to stop by with projects or ideas you’d like to make – we’ll do our best to help you out! It’s always great to email us ahead of time so that we know you are coming.
