Community Engagement Center

Community Engagement Services are available to all residents of Lena Park properties.  Arealus Pough and Alice Gomes, Community Engagement Managers, along with Merrimack College Graduate Fellow, Lindsay Dobecki are available to meet with residents who have concerns about their housing, work, family, and personal issues.

In addition to providing resources and referrals, our Community Engagement staff plan events and activities for small groups, families and holiday celebrations.  Movie nights (with snacks), free tickets to shows and events in Boston, Holiday Party, Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, socials and summer cookouts are annual events.

Community Engagement staff hold monthly stakeholders’ meetings on the third Tuesday of every month from 6 – 8 pm.  Other meetings are scheduled periodically to update residents on our real estate projects, address community concerns, and opportunities for new rentals and home ownership.

Also periodic educational workshops are being offered to empower families with knowledge on finances, getting out of debt, healthy eating and cooking; and how to access government resources. There are weekly food distributions courtesy of Fair Foods; and monthly Family Fun Nights or Family Movie Nights to promote family well-being. Also we provide clinical services to individuals and families on a case by case basis. This assistance and programming will help our families gain the necessary skills and education to thrive.

The Lena Park Community Center office is open from 9 am until 9 pm, Monday through Friday and on weekends for a variety of programs and activities.  Community Engagement staff are available between 10 and 6 pm five days a week, and they often come in weekends to host events.  Please reach out to them with any needs or concerns.  Arealus is at extension 18; Alice is at extension 13; and Lindsay is at extension 14 (617-533-8133).
